SF Bay area

Bodega Bay is a beautiful area about one hour north of where I’m staying at (Inverness / Point Reyes.) Alfred Hitchcock filmed “The Birds” at Bodega Bay.

Sun-dried crab, anyone?!

The infamous Crissy Field, San Francisco Bay (9-12-10.) I windsurfed here and it was tough, tightly-packed swells, a strong current and scary, big-ass container freighters! But the views are amazing. There’s the Golden Gate Bridge and mountains on one side and Alcatraz on the other.

Sherman Island is a great windsurfing / kiting spot in Rio Vista. The island sits between the Sacramento and San Joaquin Rivers and gets plenty of wind. You windsurf and kite in the Sacramento River which eventually spills into Grizzly Bay and San Pablo Bay (northern San Francisco Bay) to the west.
