Italy: Food

My coworkers who visited Italy told me how great the food was and I was thinking, okay, I’m sure it will be good. But it blew my mind! I never ate better in my life.

My delicious seafood salad for lunch (at a restaurant called Massenzio in Rome)

Hayley’s white asparagus pizza, also at Massenzio.

We had an amazing dinner at Il Piccolo Mondo in Rome. Here are Chelsea’s mussels.

The best caprese salad ever! The mozzarella was incredible: succulent, tender, like butter!

Caren’s seafood scampi.

The squid was so good I had to zoom in on it!

My sea bass with artichokes and toasted almonds. I don’t even like almonds but it was fantastic!

Garrett’s lamb chops.

To quote the great Homer J. Simpson: “Mmm, chocolate.”

We had a great lunch at the Antico Arco Ristorante in Gianicolo, a hill above Rome. Dad’s meal.

Andrea’s octopus tartar with green sauce – delicious!

My homemade ravioli stuffed with sea bass and rock fish. The sauce alone was to die for!

Pizza (and wine!) in Pompeii.

Prosciutto at lunch in Venice.

My delicious grilled squid lunch at Capri.

Chelsea’s awesome seafood bruschetta.

I started writing a new short story, called “The Scriptorium”, inspired by “The Legendarium,” one of the books I saw in the Uffizi Gallery, while I was sitting at this cafe (in the Piazza della Signoria, Florence) near the museum enjoying this incredible salmon bruschetta.

We had an amazing dinner at Il Gatto & La Volpe (also in Florence.)

Garrett’s calzone was almost as big as a football!

Gelato anyone?!

Once again, to quote the great Homer J. Simpson: “Ahh, sweet beer.”
